Rija Mae is a Berlin-based shibari rigger, rope model and performer connected to the European rope scene. Her work moves between rope technique, body aesthetics and intimate physical storytelling. She is also the co-creator of Nu Shibari, a project born from the creative minds of Rija Mae and Irina Vega. Nu Shibari focuses on shibari through collaborations with different rope artists and models. The project blends rope practice with BDSM, eroticism and performer diversity. Rija Mae brings the rope not just as a visual element, but as a language. Her work plays with tension, trust, restraint and desire, creating scenes where the body is not simply tied, but transformed.
